It's not news that our bodies were made to move, nevertheless, modern society has most of us sitting for hours! Although, some people don't get to sit at all or very little due to their careers, they're still plagued with repetitive moves, and an enormous amount of stress.
Stress is a natural necessary response to our environment that essentially alerted our ancestors of dangers, and promoted self-preservation. Nowadays, very little is for actual self-preservation, and most of it is just a response to challenges presented at work, looming bills, annoying family members, etc.
How about setting aside 30 minutes a day and actually move your body! Exercise has been scientifically proven to regulate Cortisol (hormone released when the brain perceives stress).
Chronic Stress (stress that doesn't go away, even when the stressor has been eliminated or not present), is one of the major causes for disease in modern society. Chronic Stress can lead to many common ailments such as: High Blood Pressure, Obesity, Heat Disease, Acne, Eczema, etc.
Start by prioritizing your wellbeing, and set 30 minutes a day for some form of exercise! It can be a simple walk, some yoga, a strength training session, a HIIT workout, an online Zumba class, anything to get you moving! If possible, joining a fitness class or working out with friends can be a great solution in getting yourself motivated to move booty off the couch!
Taking care of your health and wellbeing should be a priority. If you don't do it for yourself, no one else will!
Exercise helps you cope with everyday stressors by promoting the brain to release endorphins, which are a feel good hormone. Endorphins act as the body's natural painkiller, it helps relax you so can enjoy a better night of sleep, and improves your mood!
